Re: I'm going in the cash cube
There wasn't a lot of money in there, they said I did pretty good, many others only ended up with 30-40 dollars.
The only thing is my 102 is going to be taxed as it will be deposited into my pay instead of given in real money.

That's stupid... If you win in a lottery you don't tax it, why here...
Well, otherway of paying an extra money. But the taxing is a joke somehow.

You're wrong. You are taxed for winning the lotto.

Yeah, I think they take something like 10-12% out before you finally get your cut if you ask for it in one lump sum rather than dragging it out over a course of several years.

Re: I'm going in the cash cube
I dunno.. I personally don't see the harm in taxing the lotto. The lotto here ranges anywhere from 20 mill - 200+ mill. Quite frankly I think someone winning the lotto can do without 10-12% of the money. I certainly wouldn't know what to do with all that money. I highly doubt it would be missed.
But I do think it's crap that they're taxing Clarence's $100+ that's retarded.

And on the lotto, in England you can win things like £10. I mean, after (I think it is) 15.5% tax. you have £8.45. Minus the cost of the amount it cost to enter and you've probably made...
Nothing.
Nothing.

I have no idea how much that is in dollars and I'm too lazy to do a conversion. But they do have the little "lotto" scratch tickets here that aren't taxed. My mom has won those quite a few times.

Re: I'm going in the cash cube
In the USA if you win a big one, more than a million dollars, and take the cash as one lump, you get hit with an excise tax and a luxury tax rolled into one. It amounts to about 40% of the total. I am not complaining, because 40 percent of a million is still more than I had yesterday. If it makes y'all happier, I'll just pretend that I won 600 thousand instead of a million. hooray!

Re: I'm going in the cash cube
Hmm, yes it's still all al ot of money... i didn't really wanted to start a debate, more wonder ^^
I think Clarence did well and deserves the extra money
But this taxing comes from the state which runs the lottery - So that is like: you buy a pizza at a pizza store and the guy who made it takes one piece out of it and eats it before he hands it out. Though you have to pay the full prize for it. Ahh well maybe bad comparison but yeah i can't change that so i shouldn't complain.
Gratz on the extra money Clarence^^
