23: Your favorite book
A picture of your favorite book
Definitely gotta be Sabriel from the Abhorsen trilogy by Garth Nix. I hate reading, but I spent two full days non stop without sleeping reading all three books when I was in 9th grade. Absolutely love them! I bought the trilogy and lent it to a friend several years ago. I never got them back. I should really replace them. :)

You should see how I'm decorating my bedroom.
Yes I'm a grown woman, with three children, and a Harry Potter themed bedroom.

Well it's not done yet! Money is tight until the house in Rome sells, so I can't get everything I want for it yet. Plus it's a freakin' mess.

There are many books I like, so it's really hard to choose just one. Among them is this:

Re: 23: Your favorite book
I hate having to choose, but if I have to....
There are over a dozen books in the Foundation universe. Some are written as a murder mystery set in a sci-fi world. Others are more strictly future of the universe style sci-fi. There are the Foundation novels, the Galactic Empire novels, and the Robot novels, and they all tie together in the same universe, which is based in the future of our own galaxy. Part of the stories actually take place on earth. This is where Giskard comes up with the zero law of robotics.
No spoilers, but most of you already know the first three Laws of Robotics:
1. A robot may not harm, or through inaction, allow a human to come into harm.
2. A robot must obey humans, except where it violates the first law.
3. A robot must protect itself, except where it would violate the first two laws.

Re: 23: Your favorite book
I've probably gone on about this book before, just cause i love it. a lot.
And here's a quote.
“Talent must be a fanatical mistress. She's beautiful; when you're with her, people watch you, they notice. But she bangs on your door at odd hours, and she disappears for long stretches, and she has no patience for the rest of your existence; your wife, your children, your friends. She is the most thrilling evening of your week, but some day she will leave you for good. One night, after she's been gone for years, you will see her on the arm of a younger man, and she will pretend not to recognise you.”

I'm still waiting for the last two parts to be translated so I can begin reading from the start again.

I've heard really good things about that series, Lalou. It's on my list, should I track down a really cheap copy.
