Re: Artistic Behavior
Damn, I like all of those last names. xD Zot, how do you pronounce LaFlambeau? Is it like la-flam-boe?
Oh, and Sizz, I completely forgot about that movie! Love, love, LOVE Metropolis. I don't have many friends that really liked it though, even those who are big into anime.

Re: Artistic Behavior
I appreciate everyone's suggestions. In the end I decided to go with Morgan Cain, taking the variation of Cain to be a derogatory nickname for someone considered to be treacherous.

Re: Artistic Behavior
A few years ago I created a new DeviantART account to get rid of an old character alias I had been using for a while. At the time I created the account, I had not yet started my shop (which will hopefully be developing more soon), so I had gone with a new alias that is more true to me (in my opinion), SpanishDoll. (Unfortunately ArtisticBehavior is taken now, so no way I'll be getting that.) Anyway, several years later, I have finally made a "MOVED!!" sign to replace all my images on the old account and start moving everything over to the new one. :]

Re: Artistic Behavior
It's probably based on the original, Metropolis by Fritz Lang, a silent movie filmed in 1925. It's supposed to be one of the most important movies of the history of film. It's a great movie.sizz wrote:That's awesome! I dunno about a name, but it reminds me of the robot/girl/thing in that japanese anime Metropolis (based on some other film)

Re: Artistic Behavior
It's really good. She looks a bit older than she really is in your drawing. That is because you placed the eyes/nose/mouth a bit higher than they are. The proportions of the facial features are perfect though.
Her left eye is a bit bigger than her right.
It's really good though. If I had to grade it you'd get 8.5 out of 10.

Re: Artistic Behavior
The only thing I'd pick up on is that as you've angled her glasses differently in your drawing, you've drawn what you can see of the eye still within the glasses frame, whereas in the photograph, part of her eye is obscured by the frame of the glasses, making it look slightly smaller. It's really good .

Re: Artistic Behavior
Bah.. looking at this again, I am really annoyed with one of the balcony pillars, her arm, and her hair/neck.

I'm really eager for this Friday. I'm going to this place with a friend called Corky Canvas. You can sign up with a friend and paint and drink wine. I'm not a fan of wine, but I would really enjoy doing this. I will upload a picture of the completed piece when I get home Friday night.

Re: Artistic Behavior
Thanks! I really love it a lot. I have noticed I seem to enjoy my doodles a lot more when I use ink and can't erase. Also, on a side note I find a little amusing, the original is actually done in green ink.
