Dinner was a bit dry, as I couldn't get much drippings out of the meat. We definitely want to make it again though, and I'll add beef broth. Froot Loop seasoned the meat on her own, and did really well. The Yorkshire pudding was everyone's favorite part. :D

I never use ketchup.

My Grandfahter too it upon himself to put ketchup on my fries when we were out somewhere...

I use ketchup on cheeseburgers, and that's it, I think. Fries get mayo or vinegar. My kids usually use mayo or vinegar too.

I'm a mayo person too. What about your cooked english breakfast though? did you not have ketchup on your bacon?

I don't think ketchup is overrated it at all but i do judge those who pile more ketchup than actual food onto their plate.

Sizz, I did not use ketchup on my bacon. I didn't even eat more than one bite of my bacon. I hate it. The only reason I even put it on my plate was to show my kids that I keep trying foods too, even if I've hated it in the past.

There really is shrimp in there! The teeny little salad shrimp were way cheaper, so that's what I bought. Damn good stuff, and very glad I made it!

I had to use a chuck roast instead of tenderloin because I'm poor, so the meat ended up rather tough, but the flavor was amazing.

Your plates are really nice. The food on them looks good too, but those are some really pretty plates.

And as for English not being able to cook, all Brits know that to make a banoffee pie you buy a pastry case, Carnation caramel, a banana and some cream :P . We're not bad cooks, just lazy.

Also, that is a monster churro but looks awesome still. I may have to make myself churros this weekend. I haven't had any since the takeout ones in Cuba last year (instead of hotdog stands they had ice cream stands).

:lol: Yes, the caramel was made by boiling sweetened condensed milk, and the pastry was premade. I always try to make my own whipped cream because it's a million times better.

My plates were my mom's fine china when I was growing up, and when she left my dad, they were left in his basement. When exchex and I split, my mom went back and got them for me. It's divorce china (from Japan!) I really should get some more casual plates so those don't get all worn down.

Nope, not as lazy as the Brits. You can buy condensed milk and boil it but you can also buy one which just has to be opened and poured into the pastry case.

By making your own whipped cream, I assume you mean whipping it yourself, as opposed to using milk, gelatine and goodness knows what else? Pre-whipped cream isn't worth it. It doesn't use real milk. It's not only the taste though - you have to have the satisfaction of having beaten the crap out of the cream before it would turn.

Yes, just whipping the cream. And I've never seen canned caramel for sale here. I didn't even know that was a thing!

Ah, but in America you have the weird bacon right? I heard that American bacon is mostly rind/fat rather than actual meat.

I found this about bacon. I don't like it because it tastes like nothing but fried salt to me.
